Welcome to my little corner, I am Hema. I am the Founder, Confectionery, Cake Artist, and Head Pastry Chef at “The Orange Bakehouse.” I am a certified baker based in the Silicon Valley of Bengaluru, specializing in all things baking. You name it: cakes, cupcakes, cookies, doughnuts, brownies, and other desserts, I am available to fulfil your craving for high-quality customized baked products for all special occasions.

Before embarking on my journey as a professional baker, I worked over a decade in multinational companies such as IBM and Groupon, as a quality analyst, managing support teams, and streamlining processes to provide quality customer services to clients. I always had an entrepreneurial approach towards my work and wanted to do something on my own. Through traveling the world and experiencing a variety of baking delicacies, I realized that baking is my passion.

While I was on my way to motherhood, I began my baking journey in 2017. I pursued and completed a Diploma in Baking, Confectionary, and Cake Art from The Institute of Baking and Cake Art (IBCA). Thereafter, I completed a Level 2 Diploma in Food Prep & Cooking (Patisserie) an examination conducted by The City of Guilds London Institute. Every day I baked new products and when I tasted it, little life in my belly would start kicking, as if asking for more. This craving of my yet to be born son, motivated me to hone my skills and learn wide range of baking products. Six months after bringing my little son to this beautiful world, I started my journey as a professional baker.

 

My journey so far has been demanding, exciting, and satisfying. After fulfilling initial orders out of my home kitchen, demand started growing exponentially to the point that I am currently building an industrial kitchen so that I can pursue my passion full-time. Over the last couple of years, I have baked and fulfilled more than five hundred orders of cakes, cupcakes, cookies, doughnuts, brownies, and other confectionery. I have participated in events organized by VR Mall and had pop-ups set up selling my baked products. I also had the privilege of baking exotic cakes for Indigo Airlines for their variety of events such as employee birthdays, send- offs, and recently for their 15th Anniversary celebration.

My 10+ years of experience in providing the finest quality service to customers has taught me to work with utmost care, integrity, and dedication. I use the highest quality, freshest ingredients and producing top-tier cakes and baked products that look delicious and taste even better. I confess that my passion for baking has reached new heights and it has become an obsession, where it is no more about me, and it is all about serving people and bringing a smile to their faces. My team and I are committed to bringing a smile to each of our customers by treating them with mouth-watering exquisite baked products, and this is what motivates us each day.
